In this book (written during the summer of 1985), Lake Sammamish
in the State of Washington is transformed in the eyes of an enlightened
Buddhist Master, Sheng-yen Lu, into the Lake of Self Nature (Buddha
Nature). Through the Master?s descriptions of the lake under various
conditions, in different times and seasons, the reader can glimpse
into the mind of an enlightened master and share his joys and insights
in the cultivation of the Buddha Dharma.
Appendix A provides valuable teachings on how to do actual
Tantric Buddhist practice, including the setting up of a Tantric
shrine, how to recite mantras, and methods to quiet the mind.
Appendix B consists of letters from Master Lu's student
from various parts of the world. They are a testimony to the Master's
compassion and transcendental power.
